I enjoy typing and am quite fast. I am out of work at the moment and was thinking about offering students or professional people a typing service, be it essays, CV’s, or even thesis’ or Final Year Projects. What kinda of money should I charge and how would I operate this? All answers welcome cheers. Well, I have your answer right here. Good idea. My mate’s mum works from home as a secretary for a couple of solicitors – she transcribes their memos’ into letters. Good source to see what is charged is to look in your local newspaper, also those cards you see in supermarkets and some shop windows. Old favourtie is to hit google. . For advertising I’d guess you have two main sources – students and professionals. Once you have a price worked out start punting for business – see if you can put an ad up in local schools/ youth clubs/ uni’s or colleges. Do you know any students (I guess A-level or degree would need you most) or teachers? A local business door drop might be useful – either do it your self or pay a few quid for a neighbour’s kid to do it? Shops and professional offices? Maybe first time special offer? Best of luck.
