Oh dear god, it’s unwatchable. Don’t flagellate yourself in that way. If you really must, then view it on Youtube; don’t spend money on that abomination.
Mighty Wind was was alright. Unfortunately it was made around the same time the Iraq War began. That probably made them nervous about lampooning peace-nik folk singers.
Understandable enough, but result was that Wind wasn’t a devastating parody like Tap.
Just added “The Return Of Spinal Tap” to my Netflix queue. Never even knew there was a sequel. Know if it’s any good?
Harry Shearer. He does the voice of Waylon Smithers on the Simpsons.
These guys did another Mockumentary film about Folk Singers called “A Mighty Wind”. Though nowhere NEAR as hilarious as Spinal Tap, it DOES have some quality moments here and there.
I’ve heard that if you are at work and chant this in your head without letting anyone know you’re doing it , you will get a raise . If you chant it backwards , at least 3 times when you are near your boss , you become the boss ! truth ? or urban legend ?
–pound notes, loose change, badchecks, anything–..well here i am. hanging out at this song again. Fake or real band, who really knows–except i think i’m beginning to like it. Go, Nigel, GO!!
The guys are real musicians; they wrote the songs and played their instruments. They even toured the world. As for the drummer in this video – that’s Ed Begley Jr. It’s funny to see that much of what he plays here does not match the music. Spinal Tap (in the movie/mockumentary) went through many drummers – that was part of what was so funny about their story.
When I was a kid, I saw an ad for the movie “Young Doctors In Love” that starred Michael McKean. I was so used to him being annoying, ugly ol’ Lenny from Laverne & Shirley my little mind was blown that he was actually a straight-up hottie!
–Dr. Whuts-hiz-name from the St. Elsewhere TV show playing drums??–[and isn't that Lenny Kosnowski from Laverne and Shirley singing lead??] i just knew this band wasn’t for real.–OR IS IT???? 64citykid.
You know what I mean… or maybe you don’t…
He reminds me of Jim Carey’s Loydd from Dumb and Dumber. XD
best part at 1:11!

You are right…the best part of the video is the look on Nigel’s face during the solo. Awesome!
Have not seen it, but let ME know if it’s good!

“It goes to eleven.”
Fake band. This Is Spinal Tap is a mockumentary.
There is a Spinal Tap cover band that came about after the movie came out.
But there is no real original Spinal Tap.

There is a real Spinal Tap band that was created after this movie was made. They play all the same songs. So the answer is real and fake.
he should have played this with a violin
I like Nigel’s faces when he is soloing.
